Besides our services and products, we have worked on projects for the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior for many years. They produce software that researchers around the world use to record, share and analyse the movements of animals.
Movebank
Movebank is the freely accessible animal movement database of the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior. Since 2008 we have helped develop its software infrastructure: interfaces, smooth data intake in daily operation, and keeping up with ever growing amounts of data.
ICARUS
We have worked with the institute on ICARUS, the satellite-based observation of small animals, since 2016.
From project to product
The experience from these projects also went into our product Firetail: it grew out of the Movebank Acceleration Viewer and makes GPS, acceleration and sensor data from animals quick to see and analyse.
